Professional Agile Leadership – Evidence-Based Management (PAL-EBM) is a one-day course for leaders, managers, Product Owners, Scrum Masters, coaches, consultants, and other professionals who need a better way to set goals, measure progress, and guide improvement in complex environments.

Markets, customer needs, and technology change quickly. Static plans and activity metrics can create the appearance of control without showing whether an organization is actually improving. Evidence-Based Management (EBM) provides an empirical approach for connecting strategic goals with evidence, experimentation, and customer outcomes.

During the course, you will explore how clear goals, meaningful measures, and trust can support autonomy and self-management. You will use intentional experiments to learn your way toward strategic goals and examine how measures influence behavior, culture, and decision-making.

A central part of the class is the four Key Value Areas: Unrealized Value, Current Value, Time to Market, and Ability to Innovate. These provide different perspectives on market value and operational capability, helping you decide where improvement matters and whether changes are producing better outcomes.

The learning is hands-on and activity-based. Exercises and discussion connect EBM to the situations leaders face when working with products, teams, investments, and organizational change. Scrum experience is not required; EBM can support organizations regardless of the product delivery approach they use.

The course includes access to the Scrum.org PAL-EBM assessment and gives you a practical framework for leading with evidence, learning through experimentation, and improving value over time.
