Applying Professional Scrum for Software Development (APS-SD) is a three-day, hands-on course for software-focused Scrum Teams and professionals who want to improve how they build and deliver high-quality software with Scrum.

Instead of treating Scrum and software engineering as separate concerns, the course brings them together. You work as part of a Scrum Team through a series of Sprints, creating real code on a realistic software system and working toward increments of releasable functionality.

Along the way, you explore how the Scrum framework, the Definition of Done, Product Backlog management, and feature slicing connect with modern engineering practices. The class covers areas such as code quality, Technical Debt, Test Driven Development, Pair Programming, Agile testing, architecture, Continuous Integration, and the use of DevOps tools to support frequent delivery.

The learning happens through practice. Teams encounter the kinds of technical and collaboration challenges that appear in software development, inspect the results of their work, and adapt how they work from Sprint to Sprint. Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Developers, testers, architects, operations specialists, and others involved in software delivery can all take part, with the greatest benefit often coming when a whole Scrum Team attends together.

The course includes access to the Scrum.org Professional Scrum Developer I (PSD I) assessment and gives you practical experience of how Professional Scrum, Agile engineering, and DevOps practices can reinforce each other to improve quality, collaboration, and the ability to deliver working software.
