Applying Professional Scrum
Applying Professional Scrum (APS) is a two-day, hands-on course where you learn Scrum by using Scrum. Work as part of a Scrum Team through a series of Sprints, deal with complexity, improve collaboration, and build a strong foundation in Professional Scrum while preparing for the Scrum.org PSM I assessment.
Applying Professional Scrum (APS) is a two-day, hands-on course for people and teams who want to understand Scrum by using it.
Throughout the class, you work as part of a Scrum Team across a series of Sprints. You will experience how the Scrum framework helps teams deal with complexity, learn from feedback, make work transparent, and deliver value incrementally.
The course covers the foundations of Professional Scrum, including empiricism, the Scrum Values, accountabilities, events, artifacts, commitments, and self-management. Exercises and discussion bring these elements together so you can see how Scrum works as a coherent framework rather than a collection of meetings and practices.
APS is suitable for people who are new to Scrum, joining a Scrum Team, or looking to refresh how they currently use Scrum. It is also valuable for teams that want to develop a shared understanding before applying Scrum together.
During the course, you will encounter common problems that Scrum Teams face and explore how inspection, adaptation, collaboration, and experimentation can help address them.
The class includes access to the Scrum.org Professional Scrum Master I (PSM I) assessment and provides a strong foundation for further Professional Scrum learning.
